About Me

Hi,

I have created this blog in the hopes that publicizing my journey will force me to be accountable. I have been struggling on and off with my weight for the most part of my teens and adult hood. I thought that I had finally gotten a handle on it then came the surgeries. In June 2004 I entered Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles for an out patient biopsy. During the biopsy a vein attached to my heart was punctured, which required emergency open heart surgery. I drove myself to the hospital and came home on a walker. Due to all of the medications and the none activity, I was on a walker for 2 months, I gained in excess of 45 lbs within a two month period.

I have not been able to lose this weight. I have been lurking around the raw community for about two years and have finally come to the conclusion that this is what I need to do. I want to be clear at first I thought that going raw would be just for losing the weight, but now I understand that my weight is just one part of it. I need to do this for my overall health. My latest surgery was a hysterectomy last October. I really believe from all of the information regarding the raw food movement, that quite a few of our illnesses are directly associated with what we put into our bodies.

So thanks for joining me on my journey to a new and radiant healthy me. Tomorrow morning I will list my current weight and continue from there. I will be at a family function this July 4th weekend but plan to really watch what I eat, mainly fresh fruits & veggies.

Starting Monday morning 7/7/08 I plan to start a juice feast. For more information on Juice Feasting check out this site: http://www.juicefeasting.com/
